YF Pro League – Dodgeball Results

On a cold and wet Easter Monday, the rainy weather forced the inaugural YF Pro League Tournament indoors with some last minute changes to the competition format. Instead of the originally planned soccer game, a sport was chosen that had a long history of being one of the most extreme and hardcore games ever played by man – Dodgeball.

The YF Growth Groups battled it out in a round robin format, matching up at least once with every other group. Each match consisted of 3 rounds, with the winner being the one who won the most rounds.   it was a tough competion with some high impact action changing the normally peaceful CCCB hall into a dodgeball warzone – we even had a popped knee (don’t worry folks- he’s ok!). The fanatical Daria crowd kept the excitement levels up throughout.

At the end of the day there could only be one winner and as the playoffs came to a close, it seemed that Mangroves had taken out the Pro League cup for the day over close rivals Rebels with a Cause. A last minute appeal by SOTE though confirmed that the points tallying had been done wrong earlier thus making the victory invalid.  The result? EVERYONE’S A WINNER!

In the end it was a great day of intense competition, great group bonding and just all round fun. Stay tuned for more news of the next YF Pro League tournament…the cup is still up for grabs 🙂
